OFFICER SAFETY INFORMATION
Officer’s should be aware they have the ability to "Opt-Out" of various databases which make available online their personal information including name, phone number, home address and maps showing where they live. These databases include, Accurint, Choicepoint, Findlaw, Westlaw Lexis Nexis. The following information will guide you through the "Opt-Out" process for each company.
1. ACCURINT (SEISINT) Accurint® is a widely accepted locate-and-research tool available to government, law enforcement and commercial customers. Its proprietary data linking and analysis technology, LexisNexis® Link ID™, analyzes billions of partial and complete records, and then filters and links that information based on relevance to provide a picture of an individual.
Accurint will consider your request for opt-out after receiving the required documentation.
LexisNexis retains the right to determine the databases to which the request for removal will apply and the duration of the removal period. LexisNexis will consider requests for opt-out for good cause and retains the right to determine whether to grant or deny such requests.
An individual may request to opt-out if one of these conditions exists: 1. You are a state, local or federal law enforcement officer or public official and your position exposes you to a threat of death or serious bodily harm; 2. You are a victim of identity theft; 3. You are at risk of physical harm.

OPTING-OUT To opt-out, submit your complete name and address information using their template (links above) which includes: - Full name - Address - City, state, zip code - Social Security Number (optional) - A written explanation of the reason for the name removal request; and - The required documentation depending on the condition that applies to your situation (law enforcement, identity theft, or risk of physical harm). Law enforcement officers must submit a letter from a supervisor stating that your position exposes you to a threat of death or serious bodily harm.

2. CHOICEPOINT ChoicePoint enables consumers to opt-out of its public-facing products by submitting information by mail or via an online form. It also permits consumers to opt out of its direct marketing products. It complies with the national Do-Not-Call (DNC) requirement’s and honors requests through that service.
In addition, it complies with state opt-out laws, where applicable, and security freeze laws.
Your request will prevent your name and address from being used in unsolicited communications from ChoicePoint, Precision Marketing and its customers.

3. FINDLAW/WESTLAW FindLaw provides legal information, lawyer profiles and a community to help individuals make the best legal decisions.
If you are a judge or public official, or believe your personal identifying information exposes you to harm or are a victim of identity theft, you may request removal from Westlaw’s non-public information databases. You will need to provide a written explanation substantiating your request.
